Vistapack 2.3 for Windows XP and Windows 2000
The Vistapack comes with a nice installer, that does all the work that normally one would do by hand with a resource editor. It use reshacker, the best for scripting resource tasks.
The installer takes a sample of the file that has to be modified, and backs it up.
Then it changes all the resources in the original file, those that are needed for the Vista look.
When that's done, it places it back into the system, and will reboot for the changes to take effect. That's how it works in short terms. But, it has some other advantages. Like the Reloader. This little sub-program, runs on Windows start and checks if any files are changed. This can happen if you got a update from Microsoft, or have visited the Windows Update site. When it spots a changed file, it will "Reload" that file with the Vista resources again. So on your next reboot, that file is Vista style again. Good way of keeping your system in the Vista look and feel.
Currently, there are about 240 separate files that get modified by this pack, its one of the most extensive ones out there. The pack comes with some nice extra's, like 32bit icon support on Windows 2000!
Vista sound and cursor schemes, custom boot screen, and its own wallpaper.
There is more, but that's for you to see.
Please note that this pack includes some third party software to enable 32bit icon support for 2000...
Changelog Windos 2000 Edition:
Nothing new in the resources department, but a whole new patcher made from scratch!
Finally found a way to integrate the images used in the Gui, in the patcher itself.
Added a lot of bitmaps, they replace the green ones.
Hopefully the file open & save dialog is better now.
Some minor code clean up and fixes...
Added some more info in the helpfile.
Fixed the purple background on the battery notification.
Finally figured out how to patch the target system unattended, now when installing the pack silent it will patch the system without user interaction for the unattended freaks among us!!
Do take care, it installs all extra's too...
Tclock3 will now install with a startup shortcut its executed on windows startup with the right
ini file determined by system language. Please note that if you have a italian or a unsupported language version, it will crash explorer!!!
