CC File Transfer can work on LAN/Intranet as LAN file transfer software, and on WAN/Internet as Internet file transfer software. Following is how CC File Transfer transfers files on LAN and on WAN when you directly connect to Internet (e.g. your PC has fixed Internet IP or connect with ADSL directly etc). See how to share files with Internet friends:

Step 1. After launch CC File Transfer, drag files from Windows Explorer into CC File Transfer. Tell your friends the address (both URL and Port) displayed on infobar (just below toolbar). Default is "Share as auth", right select file(s) can change to "Share as free".


Step 2. Click "Account" button in toolbar to create a whitelist account for your friend. You can choose authentication of specified IP address or user name + password. Also you can grant download, upload and remove right to this account.


Step 3. Your friend can now open Internet Explorer (or Firefox etc.) and enter the address you provided to visit your sharing files. According to whitelist account, your friend can download/upload files, or remove files from sharing (will not delete).


Step 4. If authentication is user name + password, your friend will only see free resource at step 3. Click Login link to input his/her authentication information, then your friend can see all your sharing files.

"I remember using the G3 Torrent client before discovering uTorrent
so now that i think of it utorrent design is based on the G3torrent design (very similar),
yesterday i was checking RUFUS client (open source) and its one of the best clients ever,
it includes Webui, RSS, different Choker strategies, manual ban or after N bad pieces and much more
and best of all with 5 torrents downloading it only grabbed 10MB of memory.

if you dont need DHT and PEX this client is an excellent alternative to the almighty uTorrent
or if you have a problem getting your download done with UT this will do it.

best 2nd client out there for me IMHO."

G3Torrent was before utorrent and Rufus was the successor of G3
because G3 development stopped so Rufus was created and improved upon, fixing bugs etc.
the more I use Rufus the more i see the connection with UT.
it may not be 150kb size but Rufus is super stable and got options not yet seen in UT.
its a great "alternative" to uTorrent and the fact that it eats only 10MB of ram make it very cool.
might lack DHT and PEX which is crucial for some people with throttled torrents, but if you dont
then Rufus is better than Azureus and Bitcomet and the rest.
