Emule 0.50B Beta1 Released

Dear eMule users,

it has been a few weeks months years since the last eMule version saw the light of the day, but finally a successor is about to be completed. As the name indicates 0.50b is a more of a maintenance release, focusing on bugfixes and smaller improvements. The most important one is the reworking of the upload code and better IO handling, which allows eMule to more efficiently handle high bandwidth lines, utilizing the full upload capacity (which means others can download faster). Other changes include optimized internal handling of the AICH hashes, the replacement of the (defunct) Filedonkey search option with the ContentDB and the update of used libraries, like miniupnpc making UPnP compatible with more devices. And of course as always quite a few minor bugfixes and changes.

A note to developers: The "official" development IDE has changed from VS2003 to VS2008.

Note: A Beta version will more likely crash than a release, because it doesn't ignores any (even smaller) errors in order to make it possible for us to find and fix them.

eMule v0.50b Apex 0.1

New modification of official eMule v0.50b dev code from http://forum.emule-project.net/index.php?showtopic=156991
Mainly UI changes with many useful features under the hood ;)
A light version of ClientAnalyzer for tracing bad clients is integrated.
And many others... check it out, but keep in mind it's not a final 0.50b and might be bugs or crashes.
It's not a leecher mod and all is official code inside.
At moment only english.
Feedback is desirable.



Tip #1:

If you start this mod new, Apex download at connect to kad or server,
automaticly newest nodes.dat or server.met.
Also you can do this manuel for servers with rightclick menu in serverwindow
or kad with a double click on statusbar kad contacts.

Tip #2:

You can switch progressbar display in options/display/smooth progressbar.

Tip #3:

Some features are default disabled like category.
You can find the setting in new toolbar on top inside the tools menu.

Tip #4:

The statistic window is set default to old style.
You can change this in options/statistics/ols style graph.

Tip #5:

ClientAnalyzer event logs are default disabled.
To enable, change in prefernces.ini LogAnalyzerEvents=0 to 1
and enable in options/extended verbose log

UPX 3.91 has been released with 64bit support

UPX 3.91 has been released. Changes include

• experimental support for Win64/PE

UPX achieves an excellent compression ratio and offers very fast decompression. Your executables suffer no memory overhead or other drawbacks for most of the formats supported, because of in-place decompression. UPX strengths in a nutshell:

• excellent compression ratio: typically compresses better than WinZip/zip/gzip, use UPX to decrease the size of your distribution!
• very fast decompression: ~10 MB/sec on an ancient Pentium 133, ~200 MB/sec on an Athlon XP 2000+.
• no memory overhead for your compressed executables because of in-place decompression.
• safe: you can list, test and unpack your executables. Also, a checksum of both the compressed and uncompressed file is maintained internally.
• universal: UPX can pack a number of executable formats.
• portable: UPX is written in portable endian-neutral C++.
• extendable: because of the class layout it's very easy to add new executable formats or new compression algorithms.

EXIL IPFilter Updater (Updated Version)

This little tool will automatically download, extract and copy the ipfilter.dat for the program you chose in the right place.
It makes automatic backup when you start downloading a new IPFilter, in case something goes wrong, it restores it as it was before the update.
