Aside from that, there is one more important fact which imposes: considering that internet providers have a possibility of keeping track of complete behavior of their users, we come to a conclusion that there is an increased amount of people who want protection of their privacy and anonymous surfing.

Also many organizations looking to expand their networking capabilities and reduce their costs which is today very important.

It is clear that the solution that is imposed as the best is Virtual Private Network.

What is VPN?

A VPN or Virtual Private Network is a private, secure, communication tunnel between two or more devices across a public network such Internet. One benefit derived from using a VPN is that the "tunnel" protects your data from being "overheard" as it passes over the public Internet. Another is that, when using a VPN connection, your computer "appears" on the campus network as if it were on campus.

The Layer 2 Tunnel Protocol (L2TP) is an emerging Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard that combines the best features of two existing tunneling protocols: Cisco's Layer 2 Forwarding (L2F) and Microsoft's Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP).

IPsec (Internet Protocol Security) is a security protocol that provides encryption and authentication over the Internet. It can be used as a complete VPN protocol solution or simply as the encryption scheme within L2TP or PPTP.

Experts predict that the VPN will continue to grown in popularity as businesses to save money on remote network access for employees. There is many reasons that predict great future for VPNs:

Use a VPN - Protect your privacy

Es gibt viele Gründe einen VPN Zugang zu verwenden. Anonymität im Internet ist heute mehr den je gefragt. Ob beim Filesharing, hierbei ist zu beachten das nicht alle VPN Anbieter die Verwendung von P2P erlauben, oder aber Zensur im Internet zu umgehen.

Es gibt kostenlose VPN Dienste wo man nach Registrierung sofort ohne extra Software installieren zu müssen starten kann. Meist handelt es sich hierbei um Server in den Vereinigten Staaten die mehr oder weniger stark ausgelastet sind. Für das Browsern im Netz reicht es meistens aus solange die Seiten nicht allzu groß sind. Doch will man mehr wie etwa Videoclips ansehen trifft man schnell an die Grenzen denn die Geschwindigkeit welche meist nur wenige 100 kb beträgt reicht kaum um livestreams oder gar Downloads zu starten.

Proxy Lösungen stehen den von VPN deutlich im Nachteil. Man kann beides nicht miteinander vergleichen. Bei den meisten Proxys handelt es sich um transparente, nicht voll anonyme Server welche die wirkliche IP mit senden und damit die Herkunft verraten.

Anders bei den kostenpflichtigen VPN Providern. Man hat dort oftmals die Auswahlmöglichkeit zwischen verschiedenen Server Standorten (Gateways). So kann man wählen ob man eine IP aus den Vereinigten Staaten oder aus irgend einem anderen Land verwenden möchte. Auch hier gibt es von Anbieter zu Anbieter Unterschiede insbesondere was die Geschwindigkeit anbelangt und ob P2P erlaubt ist oder nicht.
Selbst Lösungen um an "exotische" IP Adressen zu gelangen gibt es.
Wer im Internet viel liest hat bestimmt des öfteren von Aktionen wie kürzlich von Kaspersky Antivirus gehört wobei Lizenzen für deren Produkte für Benutzern aus bestimmten Ländern kostenlos über einen Zeitraum angeboten werden.

Wir erreichen bei einigen kostenpflichtigen Providern auch mit P2P die volle ISP Geschwindigkeit sowie im Download als auch im Upload von verschiedenen Standorten aus gemessen.

Ich selber halten einen VPN Zugang genauso wichtig wie den Internetzugang. Es kann so manchen Ärger ersparen der im Internet lauert. Vielleicht wird es bald eines der wichtigsten Faktoren für P2P in einigen Ländern um auf VPN's zurück zu greifen. Wobei die Entwickler von IP Filtern VPN's gänzlich ausschließen sollten um diese nicht zu blockieren. Letzteres dient es der Sicherheit des Benutzers selbst. Ausgefeiltere LOW ID Lösungen wie auch die Funktion Netbind IP sollte in der Planung von neuen eMule Versionen eine größere Rolle spielen.

Der Grund warum mehr und mehr P2P Benutzer zu sogenannte 1Click Hostern ausweichen denke ich liegt in erster Linie in der Sicherheit der eigenen Anonymität. Wer möchte schon seine wirkliche IP und damit meist auch seinen Namen offen legen bei dem was er gerade Downloadet.
