eMule - broadband branch

The initial purpose of this project was to provide an eMule repository (including dependencies) that is ready to build and update the dependent libraries when possible. This branch specifically focuses on providing a build that is better suited to address nowadays file sizes and broadband availability. Default hard-coded parameters of eMule were better suite for small-files/slow-connections, leading to very low per-client transfer rates by nowadays standards.

The focus here is to maximise throughput for broadband users, to optimize seeding.

The focus is as well to introduce the least amount of changes to preserve the original quality and stability of the client.

IP 2 Country
As some other minor change to the upload list, the IP 2 Country is being added back. At some point it will be updated to latest formats, but for now just google GeoIPCountryWhois.csv to download a reasonably recent file and place it in your config-folder.

Installation
Just get che zip from the release and replace your current executable. Be sure to make a backup of %LOCALAPPDATA%\eMule first, as this is a "beta" build which requires testing, even if the amount of changes are minimal some external dependencies have been bumped up at compiler flags made uniform to optimize the runtime.

Several issues found in the version 0.60a were fixed, and a newer version was prepared.

This is a maintenance release.

A number of issues found since the release of version 0.60a were fixed:

• incorrectly disabled Preview item in context menu of downloads list
• memory leak in storing searches routine
• regression in frame grabber
• AICH tag publishing

In 64-bit Windows it is possible to use well know "overwrite the executable" kind of upgrade as the simplest way to switch between 32-bit and 64-bit builds or versions - there and back.
Of course, external DLLs (MediaInfo.dll, for one) must have the same bitness as eMule itself.

It is advisable to update eMule.tmpl file (a regression was fixed) if you are using Web Interface. The file can be downloaded from repository.

New modification of official eMule v0.50b dev code
Mainly UI changes with many useful features under the hood ;)
A light version of ClientAnalyzer for tracing bad clients is integrated.
And many others... check it out, but keep in mind it's not a final 0.50b and might be bugs or crashes.
It's not a leecher mod and all is official code inside.

Tip #1:

If you start this mod new, Apex download at connect to kad or server,
automaticly newest nodes.dat or server.met.
Also you can do this manuel for servers with rightclick menu in serverwindow
or kad with a double click on statusbar kad contacts.

Tip #2:

You can switch progressbar display in options/display/smooth progressbar.

Tip #3:

Some features are default disabled like category.
You can find the setting in new toolbar on top inside the tools menu.

Tip #4:

The statistic window is set default to old style.
You can change this in options/statistics/ols style graph.

Tip #5:

ClientAnalyzer event logs are default disabled.
To enable, change in prefernces.ini LogAnalyzerEvents=0 to 1

Emule 0.50B Beta1 Released

Dear eMule users,

it has been a few weeks months years since the last eMule version saw the light of the day, but finally a successor is about to be completed. As the name indicates 0.50b is a more of a maintenance release, focusing on bugfixes and smaller improvements. The most important one is the reworking of the upload code and better IO handling, which allows eMule to more efficiently handle high bandwidth lines, utilizing the full upload capacity (which means others can download faster). Other changes include optimized internal handling of the AICH hashes, the replacement of the (defunct) Filedonkey search option with the ContentDB and the update of used libraries, like miniupnpc making UPnP compatible with more devices. And of course as always quite a few minor bugfixes and changes.

A note to developers: The "official" development IDE has changed from VS2003 to VS2008.

EXIL IPFilter Updater (Updated Version)

This little tool will automatically download, extract and copy the ipfilter.dat for the program you chose in the right place.
It makes automatic backup when you start downloading a new IPFilter, in case something goes wrong, it restores it as it was before the update.
The program cleanup what has been downloaded and is no longer needed automatically.
